C a p e P o i n t N a t u r e R e s e r v e F i e l d T r i p <3

Friday the 27^th September we went on a field trip to the Cape Point Nature Reserve for our Life Science practical. This was an exciting and thrilling experience to get out of class and explore the wonderful beauty of nature. I was absolutely taken aback by the beauty that Cape Town holds. It was my first time visiting this nature reserve and after this field trip I can confidentially say that it will not be my last visit. From the beautiful fresh green leaves to the bronze brown bushes and shrubs that grabbed my attention at first. Then to all the animals that caught my attention. There were silly baboons sitting around looking for a meal to snatch. As well as the calm and collected ostriches nibbling on their food and not to forget the giant seal lazing at the tip of an enormous rock in the middle of the ocean. But It was then when I fell in love with an amazing view of the beautiful roaring ocean. As I walked further down along the shore I could just smell the fresh salty air, I could taste it tingling on my taste buds. This accompanied by the crashing of the waves against the rocks. My heart was sold, I officially just fell deeper in love with Cape Town and these beautiful surroundings. But before I could leave this beauty it was only fair to hike up the mountain which overlooked the entire view, just to sit there absorb and reflect on this beauty. Seeing nature left uninterrupted and at peace warmed my heart. From this experience I would like to become more Eco friendly and love the Earth we live in. I know appreciate nature and my planet more. Besides the beauty that we were blessed with I also and an amazing time with all my classmates , taking pictures and just being in the moment , it felt like a little moment of freedom as we all forgot about everything that surrounds us and just focused on this moment of being happy and appreciating nature. I will cherish this moment forever. I love my life and I am in gratitude for everything and everyone that surrounds me J #Blessed <3

 

My Life science 151 experience ...

Scientists, chemistry, cells, biotechnology, genetic, inheritance, plant life, animal life, diversity of life as well as  the evolution of LIFE !! These are all the key components that made up Life Science 151 one for me this year. 

I found this module to be one of my favorites as you learn so many amazing things that actually made us who we are today ...  You learn to understand that the craziness , good hair and eye color are all genes and characteristics that come from your parents (The moms side). Every individual is so unique and beautiful in their own way and we know all of this and can track down all these characteristics just buy using SCIENCE !! How amazing is that ?? You can do or find out virtually anything with the help from out great mate Science ,, thank you Science ... we love you <3 hahaha :))

Mmmkay on the other hand , talking , k well not talking but typing about my experiences of this module just brings good memories , from our Lecturer S.Short teaching us all we need to do , to our practicals with our amazing co-ordinator  Ryaan and our Demi Fefe :)) for making our practicals fun ,, like OMG they even made making DNA molecules out of candy seem awesome ,, k it was awesome hahaha and my tutor Valentyne ,, he was pretty chilled and explained things really well ...

As a whole i can conclude that i had a fantastic year thus far ,, the work that we covered was all covered in Matric with just a little more detail , this factor is amazing as , as we start a new topic all the memory juices flow back from last year and everything just comes back to you ... oh yess and there is a whole scientific process of how that happens with like your grey matter and white matter in your brain ... but we will probably cover that later on this module or even next year !! Oooh Emmm Gee bru ,, SEE yet again we can thank Science for that :D Science is so amazing ,, like if i were a subject i would want to be Science ... SHOTGUN !!! :') hahaha :))

I mean like Life Science 151 is so cool we even doing a practical right now ?? No , it does not involve chemicals, or looking the a microscope for the different phases of Meiosis ,, but it involves creating your own Blog on Life science and blogging and stuff :") Blogging is actually fun ,, and it sounds cool ... not as cool as Tweeting though (Follow: @Nalika10) ;) Hahaha
